Developed 9 nodes Linux Beowulf cluster for ETA weather forecast model. Wrote XML configuration based scripts for automated cluster topology reconfiguration. Wrote documentation using DocBook. Also performed systems administration duties 35% of the time. Technologies: Portland Group PGI, MPI

 

Project 2 (MŸnchen, September 2003 - April 2004):

 

Server migrations. Daily task included administration of over 40 Linux (Debian / RedHat / Suse) servers and several Sun's servers running Solaris 8. Primary task was to administer Linux Beowulf cluster which was running ETA forecast model, and satellite computers that were computing data for pre processing and post processing for this system. Most of the services were time critical. LAN/WAN administration including several Cisco routers. Implemented rsync based backup system for Linux servers and database fail-over system. Implemented SNMP (rrdtool) for network management/monitoring.


UNIX System Administrator at R.¯.S.A. Internet Concept and Creation, AG

June 2001 - September 2002 (1 year 4 months)

 

Performed administration and maintenance of the company's UNIX systems and internal and external networks (Cisco routers and 3com VPNs). Implement SNMP and rrdtool for extensive network management. Daily tasks also included remote administration of customerÕs web (apache), mail (postfix, qmail) and database (mysql, postgresql) Linux servers.

Migration from Windows NT 4.0 to FreeBSD servers. Daily tasks included administration of FreeBSD and Linux mail, web, database server and some shell programming. Rebuilt network from the ground. LAN administration including Cisco access servers. Implement SNMP for extensive network management.
